Doelse feesten en Scheldewijding
When it became known that Doel was in danger of disappearing because of the expansion of the port, priest De Cock launched the Scheldt consecration celebrations. The first Scheldt consecration took place in August 1975. The festivities still take place annually and attract approximately 25,000 people to the village.
